The only thing that you should be happy about is that you still have room for improovement just like in a certain other game called super meat boy. No one can convince me, because just like in the original every death is your fault. Don't give up and do not blame the controls. This is not a "get good" argument I am just encureging you to try and improove as you play. It is better! While mario run felt like a runner with mario acets this is a meat boy game from the controlls to seeing meat boy on screen. It is almot impossible to talk about an autorunner without bringing up mario run and this is not like that. You can not convey how similar this game feels to the original through video, but the fact that it feels like meat boy is comendable. The autorunner sequel is now here and people are not good at it and gameplay on youtube is not representative of how fun it is in game. Super meat boy is my jam and now I want to take this time to tell you all that this game is awesome. It is my second language, but please hear what I have to say.) (I'm sorry for some occurrences of bad English. If you constantly try to draw comparisons between the two you probably won't enjoy it as much, but it's a phenomenal game on its own merits. Super Meat Boy is one of my favorite games of all time, and I wholeheartedly recommend anyone who enjoyed it as much as I did to try out Super Meat Boy Forever. In the 20 minutes I spent playing the game after repurchasing it, I saw several new chunks in only the first world! The replay value of this game is insane and the randomness of it all helps it constantly stay fresh for hours on end. The end result of this is that no two playthroughs of the game are the same even if you think you've seen all the chunks the game has to offer, you'll still probably see at least a couple that you've never seen before in every playthrough. The game also has a New Game+ mechanic that introduces even harder chunks, making the levels you played before completely unrecognizable. The developers actually handcrafted about 7,000 "chunks", each of which is basically equivalent in size to a level from the original Super Meat Boy, and each level in the game consists of about 5-6 of these chunks stitched together to make a full level, with checkpoints between each chunk so you don't have to redo the chunks you already beat (Unless you're a completionist, in which case you'll need to do every level without dying to get S ranks). Randomly generated levels might sound bad at first, but the catch is that they're not completely random. When you start a new save file, you're given a random seed that will determine what you'll see in your playthrough. One of the coolest things about this game in my opinion however, is the way that levels are semi-randomly generated. It may seem confusing and unfair at first, but as you play you'll start to understand the nuances of the autorunning mechanic and then it starts to become very, very fun. Timing your jumps and punches just right, waiting for the perfect opportunity to get past a tricky trap, figuring out how to reach that collectible that seems just out of reach, and utilizing the gimmicks and abilities that are introduced in each zone make for an extremely satisfying experience. Don't just assume that this is the same game as Super Meat Boy but you're always running the level design is catered to fit the autorunning and each level is like it's own little puzzle to solve. I think the best way to put it is that this game is more of a puzzle platformer compared to the original. It is very mechanically different from the original Super Meat Boy, but it retains the difficulty and charm that made the first game so memorable while still bringing something new to the table. Please give this game a chance, it's actually pretty good. I bought this game on day one when it came out on the Epic Games Store, and I've decided to buy it again on Steam.
